Capital City Fruit has launched its fresh home produce delivery service to support health and well-being of Midwest families during COVID-19 pandemic.
In recognizing the importance of social distancing and self-quarantining during this unprecedented time, Farm Produce Direct allows customers to place orders online with free next-day delivery to their (or a loved one’s) doorstep.
“With so many empty grocery store shelves and increasing amounts of community lockdowns, we believe our online store will help keep communities safe and healthy. Those who don’t feel comfortable leaving their house during this time will still have the ability to have fresh, healthy options delivered directly to their homes,” said Christian Comito, President and CEO of Capital City Fruit.
The store features a range of over 80 fruits, vegetables and bulk mixed fruit options, with new items continually being added. Capital City Fruit ensures each order is hand-picked, hand-packed and undergoes a 21-step quality check to ensure the highest quality available.
Over the past year, Capital City Fruit has delivered thousands of fresh fruit gift baskets nationwide through Amazon and launched Farm Produce Direct on the company website to expand their offerings to fresh fruit and vegetables.
The online store services the Des Moines Metro Area seven days a week with free next-day delivery. Those who live outside of the Metro and in surrounding regional states receive their orders in one to two days with free deliveries Tuesday through Friday. Additional shipping charges are applied to orders delivered outside of Capital City Fruit’s delivery region.
With a $35 minimum order amount, customers can purchase items for themselves, or purchase items to be delivered to a loved one with a handwritten note attached. Customers can also purchase gift cards sent electronically to family and friends.
