From Local Orchard to National Network
Joe Comito’s love for produce started in 1949, when his father, Joe Comito Sr., opened a fruit stand in Des Moines and later added an orchard. Today, Capital City Fruit is still a Comito family business, now in the next generation. We still have farms, and we’ve grown from local roots into a national network with farm operations and grower partners around the world. Through it all, our focus has stayed the same: dependable produce and service our customers can count on.
